A small box i made over a few weeks in my spare time to store my new gilding pad, brushes and loose books of gold leaf.
The box itself is made out of old off cut frame moldings out of the skip at work with a copper filler and polyurethane resin cold cast for the decorative panel.
Incense Stand
A simple piece of walnut with a carved out dip to catch ash (works surprisingly well given the small girth of the groove) with gesso and clay and a small amount of 24k yellow gold leaf, i then gave the piece a light brass lacquer to improve its life time.

the most time consuming part of my job is the sanding of gesso from just sprayed to 600 grit or higher.
Very rarely we get frames that have been damaged and need restoring; through basic molds I can mirror undamaged sections and blend in castings to become unidentifiable from the frame (once its painted to match of course).
An example of some of the practice gilds i did during my training
A present for my parents using all the skills i had acquired at my job at John Jones London, resizing a rejected frame running through the gesso process and given and "Emmerson" finish, along with a hand gilt mirror i made. (one of those projects I really regret giving away)
